The 2nd annual Holiday Cocktail Party/Toy Drive was
held on December 5th, 2006 at the Grand bay Hotel in Coconut
Grove. 237 members of the South Florida community
attended the event, including Agustin Barrera Chairman
of the Miami-Dade County Public School Board. The
event climaxed when the assistant to Miami-Dade County
Mayor Carlos Alvarez, Wayne Carter proclaimed this day
Fun 4 Kidz Day throughout the county. People who
attended donated gifts that were brought to the children at
the homeless shelter for the holiday season. Students from
Devonaire Elementary performed holiday songs and
distributed books and Build-a-Bear bears. Fun 4 Kidz was
the sole organization to provide the homeless shelter with
holiday cheer this year.
