On March 25, 2006 Fun 4 Kidz
held our 1st annual Kidz Combine.
Olympians Lauryn Williams and
Tiombe Hurd, along with NFL defensive
back Antrel Rolle, brought energy
and excitement to the 100 children in
attendance. For four hours the children
of the Community Partnership
for Homeless and the Children’s
Home Society raced 100 meter World
Champion Williams, jumped with
American Record Holder Hurd, and
scrimmaged against NFL star Rolle.
They learned he fundamentals of
each sport and enjoyed being able to
just be kids. Local basketball celebrities,
Darren Weissman and Terek
Maddox, of Miami’s Got Game, also
provided expertise on the basketballcourt.
Antrel Rolle was consumed by
the beauty of so many happy children.
“To witness a child with so little,
smile as if they have everything, is
more rewarding than any win I could
every achieve,” stated Rolle.
